Response

Cumulatively in 2023, using the new methodology of eliminating overlap for households who have received both NFI and Shelter assistance, the Shelter Cluster partners reached 229,410 individuals (16%) of 1.4 million people targeted with NFI and NFI assistance.

Gaps / challenges

  • Prices of shelter commodities have increased sharply in the recent past affecting delivery of assistance e.g. through cash.
  • Lack of standard names for IDP site names make it difficult to coordinate activities at site level
  • Failure to identify shelter needs in famine prevention makes it difficult to advocate for shelter response
