Shelter Cluster estimates that of the total 7.3 million people who require Shelter/NFI assistance, almost 2.7 million individuals are in acute need. Shelter living conditions directly affect not only the family’s safety and protection but also their health and hygiene.Shelter Cluster assisted 870,396 IDPs, returnees, and vulnerable host community members during the fourth quarter of 2020.The winterization support was provided to 219,577 people, including 73,881 people in the acute category experiencing low weather temperatures.Heating, cooking, and fire security being an increasing concern.

Heavy rainfall continues to cause flooding and affected over 41,253 families up to the end of June.Alarming deterioration in the COVID-19 situation as cases is spreading rapidly across the country.Shelter Cluster assisted nearly 0.48 million IDPs, returnees and vulnerable host community members including 20% of reported needs of flood affected population.A fund mapping was conducted recording 37 projects from 22 organizations.

Shelter Cluster estimates that 7.27 million people are in need of essential household items and safe and dignified shelter solutions in 2020.With the ongoing unprecedented series of flooding, Shelter Cluster partners reported casualties, damages to houses, and urgent needs for over 100,000 individuals.The recent escalation of the conflict in Marib, Al Jawf, Nimh, and Sana’a Governorates has led to displacement of  over 7,000 families.Shelter Cluster partners assisted nearly 0.44 M IDPs, returnees and vulnerable host community members during the first quarter of 2020.

January 2020

The recent escalation of conflict in Marib, Al Jawf, and Nimh, Sana’a Governorate has led to a new wave of mass population displacement, with over 2,186 dispaced families, which increased to 3,825 reached at the end of  January. Over 557 families assisted with basic households items and Emergency Shelters, primarly tents.
