This document shows how the Cluster tracks, in a cumulative manner, the Rapid Emergency Response provided by its partners to the IDPs who were displaced in 2024. In it you will find the following:

1. The key figures for the rapid emergency response in 2024. More than 21,734 households were in need of the emergency shelter and NFI response. 

2. The rapid emergency response has covered 19 of the 42 communes that received new displacements in 2024. 27 communes out of the 42 communes which received IDPs in 2024 have not received any shelter response and 23 communes out of the 42 communes have not received any NFI response due to diminishing resources, the suspension of the cash as a response modality, material transportation and access constraints. The coverage at the regional level is presented in percentages.

3. A table showing the number of emergency shelters and NFI kits needed to respond to the urgent needs of the newly displaced persons. 82% of estimated rapid emergency shelter needs have not been to be covered in 2024. 54% of rapid emergency NFI needs are unmet in 2024.

N.B: The number of displacements is being tracked and this should not be confused with the official statistics of the number of internally displaced persons in Burkina Faso.
