This document shows how the Cluster tried to track, in a cumulative manner, the Rapid Emergency Response provided by its partners to the IDPs who were displaced in 2024. In it you will find the following:

1. The key figures for the rapid emergency response in 2024. More than 10,000 households were in need of the emergency shelter and NFI response. 

2. The rapid emergency response has covered 9 of the 23 communes that received new displacements in 2024. 15 communes which received IDPs in 2024 have not received any shelter response or NFI response due to access issues, diminishing resources and the suspension of the cash as a response modality. The situation is worse in the Boucle du Mouhoun region with only 1 out of the 9 communes having recieved any type of reponse. The coverage at the regional level is presented in percentages.

3. A table showing the number of emergency shelters and NFI kits needed to respond to the urgent needs of the newly displaced persons. 84% of estimated emergency shelter needs are still to be covered in 2024. There are still alerts published in 2023 that have not recieved any rapide response. 60% of NFI needs are unmet in 2024.

N.B: The number of displacements is being tracked and this should not be confused with the official statistics of the number of internally displaced persons in Burkina Faso.
