The Urban Settlement WG has been active since 2017 with the objective to identify best practices and lessons learnt on settlement approaches and urban response are promote their use by GSC partners. 

In 2018, the group published a compendium of 30 case studies “Area-based Approach in Urban Setting”.

The WG continues to champion the approach through hosting webinars where practitioners can share experiences and through continued dialogues with donors and Global cluster partners.  This year, the WG have focused energy into drafting a Guidance note on the Settlement Approach.
