Networking Session 1: Asia Pacific

Date
-
Description

This is a networking event for all Shelter Cluster stakeholders based in Asia-Pacific. This is an informal event to enable meeting participants to get to know one another. This is in lieu of our face-to-face coffee breaks, and is a fun way for shelter practitioners based in this region to connect! If you work on shelter and settlements issues in Asia-Pacific, this is the session for you!

The networking event aims to promote regional cooperation and learning in shelter and settlements coordination and response. It brings together Shelter Cluster Coordination Team members and shelter practitioners in the region to get to know each other and share challenges, successes, initiatives and learning, with a view to establish and/or strengthen a regional network of shelter and settlements professionals who can support and consult each other to improve their work.

The event will randomly assign 4-5 participants to a virtual meeting room, to have an informal chat for a maximum of 10 minutes as if they were in a coffee break. When the 10 minutes are over, they will be assigned to a new virtual room for another "coffee break" with other participants. While 10 minutes may not be enough when an engaging conversation has been established, like in coffee breaks, you may simply exchange contact details if you would like to continue the conversation later on, as we will have to move to the next round.

There will be a total of 3 rounds of 10 minutes each. The networking event will start and end in a plenary, which will include a brief presentation of the event and how it works and a final reflection and evaluation to determine if this initiative has been useful and how it can be improved. The maximum duration for the Networking Event will be a total of one hour.

All times are Geneva summer time (CEST). 14h00 CEST is 22h00 Melbourne, 13h00 London, 08h00 Washington All sessions will use the same Teams link, they will be recorded and made publicly available (except Networking sessions like this one). Register to receive the link.
