Description
Displacement in Northeast Nigeria continues to rise due to conflict, climatic shocks, and economic hardship, leaving millions without safe shelter or basic items for survival. Despite escalating needs, the CCCM and Shelter/NFI sectors remain among the most underfunded in the 2025 Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP).
- The HRP targeted 1.4 million people for CCCM with a funding requirement of $16 million. To date, only 1.9% has been received
- For Shelter/NFI, 1.5 million people were targeted with a budget of $55 million. Yet, less than 4.6% of the required funding has been secured
- As a result, over 920,000 IDPs remain without adequate shelter, NFIs, or camp management support, facing heightened protection risks, disease exposure, and repeated displacement
