About the Project

In the months following the Khost earthquake June 2022; IOM, Miyamoto, and the Shelter Cluster Afghanistan have worked to develop and provide technical guidance and support for Shelter Cluster partners. The services provided by Miyamoto are categorized under two broad activities:

• Activity 1 Geotechnical Survey
• Activity 2, Technical Assistance.

The detailed scope of Activity 1 included the remote, qualitative engineering analysis of existing geological and seismological data, targeted site assessments, and a post-assessment analysis.

Miyamoto’s Technical Assistance comprised on three components:

• Component 1: Knowledge Transfer (Training) Development
• Component 2: Knowledge Transfer (Trainings)
• Component 3: Field technical support

Miyamoto  has been providing technical support to Shelter Cluster partners in the context of post Khost EQ Shelter recovery response since August 2022 in Southeast Region through IOM supported projects funded by AHF for phase 1 during August-Dec 2022 and phase-2 funded by ECHO during July-September 2023. IOM has secured funding to continue Miyamoto’s technical support to Afghanistan Shelter Cluster in the context of Heart earthquakes.
