In September, the Shelter Cluster shared the challenges, gaps and strategic recommendations on Winterization, highlighting the shelter conditions of displaced people in Gaza and steps required to provide basic protection before the upcoming winter for the 1.13m people in deteriorating tents and makeshift shelters with no protection from rain and cold. Since then, a further 100,000 people have been displaced from North Gaza to Gaza city and need assistance.
So far, only 23% of needs have been met, leaving 945,000 people at risk of exposure this winter.
