This technical guidance material for the use, reuse and disposal of tarpaulins developed post-TC Harold has been adapted from Global Shelter Cluster and Vanuatu Red Cross guidance materials. The result is a consolidated, more user-friendly illustrated guidance note which is accessible to a wider audience.

The Technical Working Group (TWG) for the development of this guidance note was chaired by the Vanuatu Shelter Cluster Lead PWD, co-chaired by Vanuatu Shelter Cluster Co-Lead IFRC. CARE Vanuatu suggested for the drafting of this technical guidance material and had a dedicated staff to serve that purpose. The Vanuatu Red Cross Society, IOM and World Vision also contributed to the drafting of this technical guidance material.

Updated in March 2023 for the TC Judy and Kevin responses. Agency logos have been edited to align with new coordination arrangements and responding humanitarian agencies.
