DRC
DRC conducting a distribution in Munyenge: RC targeted 755 households for emergency light shelter and NFI assistance. Due to logistical issues, the distribution of NFI items was done first, while that of emergency light shelter later. In all 748 households benefited from standard NFI assistance while 719 households benefited from emergency light shelter. The difference in the achieved value given that the same households were target for both assistance, is attributed to the different dates of distribution, as some households were already displaced to far off distances in the Bush and could not make it to collect their shelter Kits.

Camp 11(Mondoni) is one of the communities seriously affected by the ongoing conflict in the Northwest and Southwest regions due to the activities of both NSAGs and state security forces. An MSNA conducted by DRC revealed serious vulnerability in terms of shelter and NFI needs. DRC responded by assisting 70 most vulnerable households with NFIs and Standard Shelter items/kits. This will help to improve access for over 360 individuals to safe and dignified shelter and overall improvement in their living conditions.

The team supported 35 people with HH/NFI Kits, with 27 being IDPs and 8 being Host Community members. All the beneficiaries were all from Small Ikange. Beneficiaries were shown the various items in the HH kit, it was made up of 2 blankets, 2 mats, bucket, 1 20 litter jerry can, 1 solar lamp, 1 kitchen set (2 cooking pot, 1 frying pan, 5 bowls, 5 plates, 5 cups, 5 table spoons, 5 table forks, 1 knife, 5 table knives, 1 wooden serving spoon, 2 serving spoons, 1 serving label, and 1 scouring pad) and the kits were the same for all the 35 beneficiaries. But for the Mat, Jerry can and Solar lamp, all other items were made of steel or wood. Iron is very easily recycled and wood is biodegradable. Beneficiaries were educated on how to dispose of the plastics and metals when they wear out. From the excitement and feedback from beneficiaries, one can say without doubt that those who received the NFIs were truly those in need and will make good use of it.
