NOVEMBER 2023 MONTHLY SHELTER CLUSTER MINUTES

ACTION POINTS

- The HPC project submission portal will soon be open, Shelter cluster partners are encouraged to make use of the cluster logical framework for 2024, and the activity matrix to guide their project development and endeavor to submit their projects within the allocated period. the shelter coordination team is available to provide support to partners who face challenges with project submission.

- Shelter cluster coordination team to share results of the MIRA  carried out in Egbekaw to help inform partners on the shelter needs and the existing gaps and also to guide their response.

-  Partners intending to respond to those displaced in Egbekaw should ensure to coordinate with the cluster before interventions.

- Partners to make use of the photo collection tool and share pictures of activities with the cluster

- NRC to update distribution of 650 NFI kits by partner CBC on the 5W tool

- Partners to improve on communication with the cluster to improve on coordination, especially during RRM situations.

- UNHCR with partner Intersos to share locations of distribution of NFI kits in Mamfe with the cluster to facilitate coordination with other partners who intend to respond.

- Caritas Buea to update the cluster on the exact location of the distribution of the 300 NFI kits in Fako division and the contents of the kits

- UNHCR and partner Intersos to update the 5W with the households receiving cash for rent as well as the households receiving cash for NFIs in the Northwest, Southwest, West, and Littoral regions

 

PARTNER UPDATES

 

Northwest Region:

NRC:

- Completed distribution of second phase cash for rent for 3 months to 120 Households( 60 HH in Bamenda 2 and another 60 HH in Idenua) with a transfer value of 25000frs per month.

- Completed the distribution of 650 NFI kits through the Partner CBC in the localities of Jakiri, Kumbo, Mbawnso, and Nwanti.

- Trained shelter committee members from Benakuma on light and medium shelter repairs

ASDEPCO:

- Done identification of 5 households in Jakiri to benefit from NFI assistance.

CRS:

- Updating the quantities and categories of NFI  items that were redeemed by the 2100 Households that were earlier reported to the cluster.

UNHCR:

- Verification of list for 1300 Households to benefit from cash for rent with a transfer value of 87000 frs and 800 households to benefit from NFIs with a transfer value of 47000 frs in the Northwest, Southwest, West, and Littoral regions. this will bring the number of households assisted with cash for rent to 2500 households and those assisted with cash for NFIs to 2500 households in the 4 regions(NW, SW, West, Littoral)

Southwest Region:

Caritas Buea:

- Plans to carry out distribution of NFI and Hygiene kits to 300 Households in Fako Division. kit contents will be shared with the cluster later.

NRC

- Through partner AMEF, plans to distribute 650 NFI kits in Mamfe sub-division

- Completed the distribution of 325 NFI kits through partner AJESH in Tiko, Middle Constain, and Wotutu

UNHCR:

- Distribution of 100 NFI kits in Egbekaw

ICRC:

- ICRC cash assistance to 59 households in Mamfe with a transfer value of 65000frs.

- Plans to do NFI distributions in Mamfe. This distribution was earlier planned before the Egbekaw incident and does not target those who were displaced due to the Egbekaw incident.

NB. ICRC does not fall under the UN Coordination and accountability mechanism. they hold an observer status in the Shelter cluster.
