Vanuatu TC Lola 2023
Severe Tropical Cyclone Lola hit Vanuatu on October 25-26. Very heavy rainfall, strong winds and storm surges caused by the passage of the tropical cyclone (with maximum sustained winds up to 222 km/h) on 24-25 October (UTC) over central and northern Vanuatu caused widespread and severe damage. There are over 50,000 people in the affected area. This is the earliest Category 5 storm on record for the Southern Hemisphere.
