The humanitarian situation in North-East Nigeria remains relatively fluid, characterized by increasing cases of insecurities in various local government areas, especially the deep field locations, leading to an increase in shelter and non-food item (NFI) needs along with other humanitarian needs, hence adding to the existing protracted caseloads from previous primary and secondary displacements.

March 2023
In the dawn of 2023, the CCCM, shelter and NFI sector in close collaboration with its partners and the government leads in NE Nigeria have continued to optimize the use of the available resources to meet the needs of the affected population residing in the camps, camp like settings and host communities for the IDPs, returnees and the vulnerable individuals in the host communities who have been exposed to the tiring living conditions since the blow of the insurgency 12 years down the line.

December 2022
• During this reporting period covering October to December 2022, 9,700 HH for 48,155 individuals were reached for shelter support and 5,000 HH for 25,000 individuals were reached with NFI support through 10 sector partners. With the overall number of people reached standing at 298,120 individuals, makes the percentage of reach stands at 18% across the BAY states.
• Further, 90,933 individuals in the camps, camp-like settings, and host communities continued to suffer exacerbated by the effects of climate change such as flooding, and fire.

September 2022
From July to September, 2,012,660 people in Northeast Nigeria continues to dwell in camps and camp-like settings (DTM Round 41) with movements (arrivals and departures) continued to be tracked and reported on a weekly basis by the emergency tracking tool.
During the period under review, 90,933 people both in camps and host communities have been immensely affected by the heavy downpour and flooding.

June 2022
The Shelter/NFI and CCCM sector in the reporting month of June initiated series of advocacies through its CCCM partners and government counterparts (NEMA and SEMA) on the need to scale up on the shelter intervention which includes the repair and construction of more shelters to accommodate 5,165 Internally displaced population who are sleeping outside without shelter, and 14,120 in reception centres plus the new arrivals.

March 2022
During the first quarter of 2022, the sector through its shelter and NFI partners was able to reach 6,295 HHs with NFI kits; 1,838 HHs with emergency shelter solutions; and 1,565 HHs with transitional shelter solutions.

November 2021
Shelter sector through it partners provided assistance to vulnerable people in need, reaching out a total of 509,470 IDPs, returnees and vulnerable host community members to date, through 15 of its active Shelter and NFI Partners who were working to provide the response. A total of 300,670 individuals have been assisted with NFIs, 154,405 with ESKs, 21,158 with transitional shelters including repairs and 2,230 with cash assistance for rental subsidies.

October 2021
The reporting month of October 2021 experienced a decrease in movement 7,787 Individuals (IND) as compared to September 12,336 IND resulting from increased security situation and improved poor living conditions in Northeast Nigeria. The sector recorded arrivals of 6,404 IND and Departures 1,383 IND of the population across BAY State in October 2021.

September 2021
The reporting month of September 2021 experienced an increase in movement 12,336 Individuals (IND) as compared to August 7,520 IND resulting from decreased security situation in the Northeast Nigeria. The sector recorded arrivals 10,285 IND and Departures 2,051 IND of the population across BAY State in September 2021. The highest arrival was into Bama LGA with 6,441 IND and Gwoza LGA recorded the second highest number of arrivals with 610 IND.Within the reporting period, little rain was recorded.

August 2021
The reporting month of July 2021 experienced an increase in movement (19,181 Individuals IND)compared to June (8,248 IND) resulting from the security situation instability and natural disaster like floods in Northeast Nigeria. The Sector recorded Arrivals 11,886 IND and Departures 7,295 IND of the population across BAY State. The highest arrival was in Hong with 3,455 IND and Gombi LGA recorded the second-highest number of arrivals with 1,295 IND in Adamawa.
