According to PRMN report, More than 6,266 newly displaced households (approx. 37,596 individuals) have arrived in Mogadishu, Baidoa and Xudur due to the drought in January 2022, and have joined the existing overcrowded IDP settlements. These include 1,455 households (8,730 individuals) in Baidoa, 295 households (1,770 individuals) in Hudur, and 4,516 households (27,096 individuals) in Kaxda, Garisbaley and Daynile districts in Mogadishu.

October 2021

On 16th October, about 18,500 households and approximately 111,000 individuals fled from Guriel in search for safety to Laanle, Celdera, Shalaqbeen, Hodola, Gabon, Dabara, Biyagudud, Mataban, El-Baraf, Calanlale and nearby villages. The displacement was prompted by armed conflict between SNA/Galmudug forces and ASWJ forces. The displaced are in urgent need of shelter and NFI assistance

September 2021

- Between 18 and 19 September 2021 the IDP families in six settlements were ordered to vacate the land of their settlements without prior notice. These IDPs lived there over the past 10 years .- Somalia Shelter cluster partners have endorsed a new kit: The Emergency Shelter Toolkit. This tool kit will help displaced households to rapidly construct their own shelters. This will be help beneficiaries in times when funding available is not sufficiient to provide them with the complete emergency shelter kit

August 2021

- On 14 August 2021, non-state actors seized control of Adakibir in Adado district, displacing of an estimated 11,100 persons.- About 9000 persons have also been displaced by riverine floods in Jowhar district in August 2021.

July 2021

- About 1028 households have been evicted by AS and arrived in Berdale. 91% of them do not have shelter.-3,500 households have been displaced due to conflict in Dollow district. 29% of them are living in the open.- over 2,000 households have been displaced in Wisil town to Hobyo town.- 1,300 households have been evicted from Farjano IDP sites in Bossaso.- The Shelter Cluster joined a mission in Wajid where there has not been any shelter assistance provided in the recent years.

During the month of June 2021, the Shelter Cluster partners assisted:• 24,303 people with non-food items (NFI) kits. Standard non-food items kit consists of plastic sheet, blankets, jerry cans, sleeping mats, mosquito net, solar lamp and kitchen set.• 4,776 persons were assisted with Shelter. The shelter assistance were emergency shelter kits to 4,122 people, and transitional shelter to 654 people.

During the month of May 2021, the Shelter Cluster partners assisted:• 20,250 people with non-food items (NFI) kits. Standard non-food items kit consists of plastic sheet, blankets, jerry cans, sleeping mats, mosquito net, solar lamp and kitchen set.• 3,666 persons were assisted with Shelter. The shelter assistance were emergency shelter kits to 3000 people, and transitional shelter to 666 people.

Standard non-food items kit consists of plastic sheet, blankets, jerry cans, sleeping mats, mosquito net, solar lamp and kitchen set.• 14,647 persons were assisted with Shelter. A shelter assistance includes emergency shelter kit, or provision of transitional shelter.
