Depuis le début de l’année 2024, Haïti fait face à une crise humanitaire exacerbée par une montée de la violence armée et des déplacements massifs de populations. Suite à ces événements, les besoins en abris et biens non alimentaires ont fortement augmenté, portant à 1 041 229 le chiffre de personnes déplacées internes (PDI) dans le pays. A cela s’ajoute l’impact des catastrophes naturelles dans le pays.

Depuis le début de l’année 2024, Haïti fait face à une crise humanitaire exacerbée par une montée de la violence armée et des déplacements massifs de populations. Suite à ces événements, les besoins en abris et biens non alimentaires ont fortement augmenté, portant à 702 973 le chiffre de déplacés dans le pays, dont environ 434,000 ciblés par l’assistance humanitaire dans ce secteur. Les déplacements massifs concernent désormais tous les départements du pays, avec une concentration notable dans les quatre départements du Grand Sud qui abritent 47 % des personnes déplacées internes (PDI).

June 2024

Depuis le début de l’année 2024, Haïti fait face à une crise humanitaire exacerbée par une montée de la violence armée et des déplacements massifs de populations. Suite à ces événements, les besoins en abris et biens non alimentaires ont fortement augmenté. Initialement, environ 200.000 personnes déplacées étaient ciblées pour l’assistance selon l’exercice HNRP 2024. Cependant, l’aggravation de la situation a entraîné une hausse de 189 % du nombre de personnes déplacées, portant ce chiffre à 578.074.

March 2024

At the beginning of the year 2024, and particularly since the end of February, Port-au-Prince has witnessed a alarming surge in violence, marked by repeated attacks on essential infrastructure by armed groups. These targets include police stations, prisons, the international airport, the port, and the fuel terminal. Some humanitarian partners have faced looting of a portion of their stocks at the port, and the closure of the capital's airport has forced these actors to rethink their logistical strategies.

During the first quarter of 2023 the partners continued their assistance in the areas affected by the earthquake and began the more sustainable reconstruction using mainly the  TCLA’s technique.
