Description

This Winterization Advocacy Note 2023-2024 sheds light on the critical winterization efforts underway to provide essential support to people in need in the North-West Syria (NWS).

There are a total of 1,532 Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) sites and camps in NWS, with a majority 1,289 being spontaneous sites. These sites are home to approximately 1.99 million IDPs, distributed across 377,000 households. A staggering 80% of the population in these sites and camps are women and girls, making them particularly vulnerable to the harsh winter conditions.

A total of 102.1 million USD is required to reach the intended 2.1M target out of which SNFI partners have secured 35 million USD which is 34% of the requirement, leaving a substantial funding gap of 67.1 million USD.

From the currently secured funds, S/NFI partners will aim to provide support to 778,000 vulnerable individuals, equivalent to 155,000 households.

*This advocacy note will continuously be updated.
